Interested in visiting Daufuskie Island but you’re not quite sure what’s happening on the Island? No worries; Calibogue Cruises (pronounced Cali-bo-gee) has you covered! There is a lot to see and do and it’s up to you how you’d like to spend your day. Here’s some info on how your day could look on Daufuskie Island.
Your first stop on Daufuskie Island is Freeport Marina. Once off the boat you will notice beautifully landscaped grounds. A crushed oyster shell lane leads you past an outside sitting and dining area and The Old Daufuskie Crab Company Restaurant. This popular restaurant is always doing something fun, like hosting one of our favorite local bands, Cranford Hollow.
Further up is a gazebo that features an outdoor bar and a shaded dining area. At the end of the lane is the Freeport General Store. Here you will find everything from cold drinks and snacks to t-shirts and gifts. Take time to peruse the books about Daufuskie and observe the pictures on the walls. This is one of those unique little stores found only off the beaten path.
